The Carlton Vignette Hotel in Al Khobar presents a clean, modern take on hospitality design. dwp handled the architecture and interiors, focusing on clear lines, natural textures, and functional comfort. Every part of the hotel was built with a purpose, as nothing was added for decoration alone.
The original hotel, known as the Carlton Al Moaibed, had a long history in the area. The redesign kept that history intact. Working with the family that owned the property, the design team kept what mattered and replaced what didn’t. Materials were chosen for durability and warmth. Spaces were built for movement, light, and rest. There is no forced theme, just careful attention to how people move, gather, and relax.
The Carlton Al Moaibed Hotel has been redesigned with a clear purpose: to offer comfort without sacrificing character. Under dwp’s direction, the hotel uses familiar cultural details: Arabic patterns, handcrafted artwork, and traditional textures, refined and presented with a modern touch. Each space serves its function with clarity, from the open, welcoming lobby to the quiet, well-appointed guest rooms.
This project is part of a broader shift in Saudi Arabia’s approach to hospitality. The hotel includes a range of amenities such as multiple restaurants, a full-service spa, a fitness centre, and an outdoor pool. As a member of the Vignette Collection, the Carlton brings structure and professionalism to the region’s hotel scene, offering visitors a clear, confident impression of Saudi Arabian hospitality done right.
Public areas are open and practical. Guest rooms are quiet and comfortable. Natural colors, soft fabrics, and built-in lighting create ease without clutter. Technology is included where useful and left out where it isn’t. No extra buttons, no gimmicks.
Outside, the building uses energy-saving systems and native plants to lower its impact. Water and power are managed with long-term use in mind. Maintenance is simple. Systems work as they should, day after day.
The hotel speaks with subtlety. Rather than following trends or seeking to impress through extravagance, its design allows the guest experience to lead. That’s the essence of considered hospitality. Carlton Hotel by dwp secured the Grand Winner title at the 2025 iLuxury Awards in the Best Luxury Hospitality – Best Luxury Hotel category. This achievement highlights dwp’s ability to deliver refined hospitality environments that appeal to discerning travellers worldwide.
