Interview with the 2021 MUSE Design Awards Winner - Korarit Whangsritrai

1Please give us a brief bio of yourself and your design background.

I graduated in interior design and master of art and design from Rungsit University with 20 years of design experience working at KRDecorate as Chef Designer.

2What made you become/why did you choose to become a designer/artist?

Since I was a kid I loved drawing and seeing beautiful buildings. Or a gorgeous decoration Causing a feeling of wanting to create it according to my own opinion.

3Tell us more about your business/company, job profile, and what you do.

KRDecorate Co., Ltd. established as a company about 10 years ago, the father of the owner of the company was a furniture mechanic. The work that the company makes for the current customer is the design and construction of the interior, and 3 years ago, the company added the design and build of Architecture. Most of the tasks that customers trust are Build and decorate a house Because the technician who works with resolution And construction management to be completed on time by the customer. I am working at KRDecorate as Chef Designer.

4What does “design” mean to you?

Designing is like finding solutions and solving clients in his needs and improving his life.

5What’s your favorite kind of design and why?

Design work is fun because the customer will have an idea and I will convert it in my opinion. The last work is interesting in that the identity of the customer is in the result.

6To you, what makes a “good” design?

Meeting the needs of the customers as much as possible with the opinion of the designer himself.

7Describe your design style and its main characteristics.

I will arrange the function according to the needs of the customer to be as precise as possible. And use the composition to manage furniture and add styles to meet the needs of customers in my own styles and opinions.

8Tell us about your design process.

After concluding lay-out plan with customers I will create the floor plan, electrical and ceiling plans, define the lights, and all elevation with autocad to send all the information to the 3D photo team if the customer does not change the design. The construction work will match the 3d image.

9Do you think your country and its cultural heritage has an impact on your design process?

Effectively, because all cultures are attractive this in itself depends on what aspects we see and how we use it and blend it.

10Congratulations! As the winner of the 2021 MUSE Design Awards, what does it mean to you and your company and team to receive this award distinction?

On behalf of me, the chef designer, and Miss Praewpan, the owner of the company and every team, we are very honored that MUSE presented an award.

11Can you explain a bit about the winning work you entered into the 2021 MUSE Design Awards, and why you chose to enter this project?

I informed the owner of the house, Mr. Thanit, and he was very happy. Personally, I see it as a prestigious award received from MUSE because it is an award that the jury is highly professional.

12What was the biggest challenge with this project?

Smile and happiness of Mr. Thanit's family.

13How has winning an Award developed your practice/career?

The company and I are very honored with this award, and is something that will encourage further development of the work.

14What are your top three (3) favorite things about our industry?

1. The work that has been awarded is interesting.

2. The committee is professional.

3. The award and logo of MUSE are beautiful design.

15What makes your country specifically, unique in the design industry?

Technician with precision and the absorption of foreign cultures.

16Where do you see the evolution of design industry going over the next 5-10 years?

1 .The spread of disease affects life, which affects the Life Style.

2. There will be a greater absorption of each other's cultures.

3. The material must be environmentally friendly.

17If you were a student entering this industry or an aspiring MUSE Design Awards submitter, what advice would you give them?

Applications of design to match the life style of people, which is a result of the changing environment.

18What resources would you recommend to someone who wants to improve their skills in the design industry?

See a lot of designs that the results of this kind are influenced by what factors are involved.

19Tell us something you have never told anyone else.

20Who has inspired you in your life and why?

Ms. Preawpan, she is both the boss and close friends who give advice.

21What is your key to success? Any parting words of wisdom?

Everything in the world is unique. Know as it is. Do not modify.
