The beginning of this studio went way back to 25 years ago, when the two collaborated in decorating their elementary classroom. Chen and Yang have always been engaging in art design cooperation since elementary school. From the classroom decoration and poster design all the way from 25 years ago to the current home, landscape and commercial space planning, the two have been stirring each other and pursuing the ultimate beauty in the arrangement of various designs.

We observe the world, weave our imagination, explore our idea and construct ourselves with the practice of the arts, that is also how we build up our confidence and find our way through the world of symbols. Art has become our language to express our thoughts among issues in which we are interested and complete concrete works. No doubt, art is the life-long pursuit of ours.

Our studio hopes to make a flexible lifestyle for the consumers through the reorganization of spaces and hoping our design corresponds to the user's aesthetic needs.

Fine art could be seen as the ideal of beauty, while design in all fields is the interpretation of the ultimate beauty. Fine arts and creative design together form our lives as one symbolizes the pursuit of sublime and the other is the realization of it.

The purpose of a designer is to renew the perspectives of the audience. Designers convey their ideas and belief with their works, while design should all be founded on practical functions, yet they are not the only aspect of a good design. An interior designer should always consider a user-oriented solution to answer the need of his customer and in the meantime elevate the possibility of forming an aesthetic living style.

The priority of interior design is to rearrange the spaces racially. A good designer should consider both the comfortability and the usability for the clients, then customizing the interior designs in each area composed on different needs of each users.

We believe that design should be people-oriented, a great design should match the character of each users. Thus, we like the fusion design style, not limited by specific design styles.

Our culture is developed by all the people living in Taiwan. Cultural tolerance is always an important part of Taiwanese characteristics. Therefore, we can merge any design elements together to create our own style and will not be limited to a single style.

Through this award, we are more confident and believe that even though this is a small company, we have the ability to make a work that accomplish the standard of international level.

This case is to be a residence for the owners for retire life. The needs which must considered is the convenience for the elderly. In addition, the requirements of each resident are different, therefore, the space planning and style choosing can be created on each users’ preferences and their usage habits. It is particularly challenging for us. We believe that we have achieved the goals appropriately, built a house with great design and comfort the clients. That’s why we choose this case to apply this well-known competition.

The original structure of the house was not fully adopted for the residents, so we found a lot of wasted space. Thus, the most challenging part of this case was to rearrange the deformed spaces appropriately.

Being affirmed makes us to have more confidence with our own creations and allows us to get attention of our potential customers. We have earned more opportunities for receiving new cases and have filled that customers trust our design more and are willing to let us go for our design ideas.

Taiwan has always been an island with strong manufacture; the design industry was used to be subordinate to it. Thus, it is natural to emphasize on functions over design. However, in recent years, young designers have begun to draw inspiration from Taiwan ’s cultural heritage and develop their design as the media between old and new. We could see more and more design transforming the island’s history and unique stories while communicating with the globe.

As mentioned early, cultural tolerance is always an important part of Taiwanese characteristic. At present, the development of the design industry is entering a vigorous development route from the initial stage, and our government are paying more attention and placing more resources to this aspect. I believe the industry will become more mature in the next 5 to 10 years.
