If the world is a stage, then K-Pop is the main act. All of us in the office are charmed and positively chuffed by the talent and dedication to their craft in CJ ENM’s two award winning entries in the 2019 Vega Digital Awards, “Relay Dance” and “GOT7’s Hard Carry”.
Both “Relay Dance” and “GOT7’s Hard Carry” won the Canopus (1st place) in the Music/Voice Performance and Entertainment category respectively, giving the genre even more validation and legitimacy in an increasingly compact world of music and entertainment.
“GOT7’s Hard Carry” is a reality program that has popular K-Pop boyband GOT7 completing various tasks in their bucket list and lays out the more intimate side of each member in the group. All three seasons garnered critical acclaim, with Season 1 and 2 having more than one million views and Season 2.5 receiving six hundred and fifty thousand views.
“Relay Dance” features K-Pop idols Red Velvet, GOT7, Seventeen, Twice and many more dancing to their songs in a line instead of their original formations. The sensational series of videos recorded more than two million views per video, creating a dancing fever that officially immortalized the dancing in the K-Pop fandom.
Both video series are curated by CJ ENM, a South Korean media company that manages a wide variety of media content. Tapping into the rapidly rising need for inclusivity and the expression of talent, the K-Pop industry is a success story waiting to explode into the global scene. These two wins in the Vega Digital Awards prove just that.
