Concoction of Experience
Elixir Restaurant & Lounge Bar lives up to its name by crafting a space that evokes the essence of a magical concoction. Designed to elicit happiness and comfort, the establishment's central feature is the awe-inspiring tree of life, constructed entirely from reforested wood. This remarkable structure extends from its roots beneath a glass floor to a massive log that supports LED-lit boughs and colorful flowers, forming a stunning crown on the main salon ceiling.
The restaurant boasts three distinct areas, each offering a unique experience: the balcony, the main salon, and a dedicated events salon. Among the high points of Elixir are the hall of mirrors and the golden bar, strikingly contrasted by decorations made from upcycled coconut shells. Adding to the restaurant’s charm is a salt-water aquarium that brings a slice of the Mediterranean Sea indoors. The lavatories, adorned with hand-painted artwork, feature a combination of marble and coconut panels, further emphasising the blend of natural and sophisticated elements.
Elixir’s design philosophy marries cutting-edge lighting technology with sustainability and sensory experiences. The various textures and artisanal details create a customized and immersive environment. The tree of life, a dominant presence in the restaurant, has illuminated roots embedded in the wooden floor and handmade flowers of varying sizes adorning its wavy, intertwined branches. The programmed LED lighting simulates the flow of veins, infusing the tree with lifelike energy and creating a dynamic ecosystem.
Art and culture are woven into the design through photographs by an English photographer, printed as curtains, and an artistically hand-painted corridor. Sustainability is a key theme, reflected in the utilization of reforested wood for the tree and repurposed coconut shells for bar decor and bathroom tablet walls.
