In a first of many weekly jury highlights, Muse.World is proud to present some of the talented minds spread out across all industries. Without their knowledge and experience, the awards that they are adjudicating for will not have existed.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at the profiles of Renato Barreto, Mike McKay, and Masanori Eto of MUSE Creative Awards.
With over 10 years of first-hand working experience in the advertising field, Renato Barreto is an Integrated Asosciate Creative Director with MullenLowe. Alongside with working at DDB Brazil, Ogilvy&Mather, Talent/Marcel, and Dentsu under his belt.
A hardened copywriter with an impressive portfolio to boot, he has singlehandedly helped Ogilvy Brazil become the 3rd most awarded agency in the Cannes Lions.
Today, Renato Barreto works with MullenLowe, but is also working closely with some established and well-known brands such as Kentucky Fried Chicken. Side note: He is also part of the 2022 MUSE Creative Awards Grand Jury Panel, which is pretty cool, too!
Boasting a colorful portfolio of creating content for big names we all know and love for Apple, Google, Netflix, Sony, Toyota, and to name a few more. Mike McKay is a seasoned veteran in the advertising industry with over 20 years of industry experience.
Mike also has a series of accolades and collects them like baseball cards. Winning the US Campaign of the Year with HP – The Computer Is Personal Again (so much so that it even became a Harvard Business School case study!), the Toyota “Swagger Wagon” being YouTube’s Top #20 adverts of all time, featured at TED, The Museum of Modern Art, and winning multiple times in the Cannes Lions.
Today, Mike is the CEO of Eleven, Inc., an advertising agency creating some of the greatest media masterpieces to have graced the internet. And we are eternally grateful to have such an esteemed individual to be part of our grand jury panel!
You may have seen his designs if you went on vacation in Japan at a Don Quijote department store before, or maybe at the import section in your local supermarket. Hailing from the land of the rising sun, Japan’s very own Masanori Eto is a full-fledged member of the Japan Package Design Association (JPDA). Responsible for the packaging designs of foodstuffs and other items that is minimalist, bold, or even both that is uniquely Japanese at heart!
Masanori is also a Director of Public Relations, Regional Development by Design, and regularly goes on a sort of ‘international exchange’ across the globe to observe the package designs of products he could get his hands on from store shelves while also teaching package design and branding to art schools and colleges in his home country of Japan (Tokyo, Sendai, Tottori) and China (Beijing, Shanghai).
This wandering ronin in packaging design doesn’t stop at just cranking out a new killer each day, either! In 2016, he spearheaded the Asia Pacific Student Package Design Competition (ASPaC) as well as being a renowned jury in 2014 through 2016 for the Design Awards and Competition, The Vertex Awards for retail brands and The Dieline Awards in 2015 and 2016, and the Kiev International Advertising Festival in 2015.
Today, Masanori Eto is heading the Package Division at ADBRAIN in his position as Creative Director and continues to produce great packaging designs for many Japanese and global brands being sold in domestically in his country. While he’s not doing that, however, he is also adds a Japanese touch to evaluating all of our entry submissions in the MUSE Creative Awards for the 2022 competition year. Exactly the diversity we need to provide a unique look at the potential winning entries of this year!
