The best ads not only come from great looking visuals or arresting copies, but also from the underlying message that the brand is trying to convey to the public, whether it be for commercial purposes or not.
That's why this WWF print ad campaign comes to mind. Dealing with the issues of microplastics all over our ocean, the visuals and the copy are fused to give off a singular message: save our ocean (please!). Take a look here:
The print ads feature similar images of the ocean framed with a galaxy-like imagery with microplastics floating across the horizon.
With a simple copy that further illustrates the enormity of the issue, the ad pushes the message forward easily with its fantastical visuals.
This may not be an award-winning ad (yet), but this certainly ranks amongst one of the better NGO ad campaigns we've seen in a while because of its easily comprehendible message.
