Memes. Some could say that it is the DNA of the soul. But to all, it is a special form of communication that transcends all possible manner of visual media. No matter the language. But alas, while some memes have ascended to legendary status, many are shirt-lived with only a lifespan of only a month.
As such, the digital innovators of K11 Concepts Limited have partnered with 9GAG to make another exhibit in the cutting edge K11 Art Mall to document, catalogue, and display both the greatest memes of all time from every era of the digital age since the beginning of internet culture!
In the museum, you will see an arsenal of iMacs displaying some recognizable and iconic memes ranging from the now-ancient Rage Comics up to the full music video of Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up as well as a series of Rick Rolls.
The main attraction of the exhibit would definitely be a rolling conveyer belt that slowly presents different memes in a 2D picture and moving GIFs and videos will play when it passes by a camera via AR and displays the final result on a screen.
Board games, 4D experiences, and AR attractions are also implemented in a different part of the exhibit to really enhance the experience of giving you more freedom to interact around your surroundings.
Sure, a normal museum with dinosaur fossils and old items from over hundreds of years is cool. But this is much cooler and preserves a vital part of internet culture that unites its citizens closer than ever and giving them a language that is universally understood by all.
Memes are great, and so is Netflix and their huge catalogue of shows! Check out these awesome campaigns from their most popular shows here!
