Aerial silk, also known as aerial fabric or aerial tissue, is a beautiful and mesmerising art that encapsulates grace and projects it into life! It is a performative art that involves acrobatics and dance while being suspended from long, flowing pieces of fabric. Performers are able to explore their creativity and invent captivating movements and shapes.
The endless possibilities for choreography make each performance truly unique. Föls was able to capture a riveting image that illustrates the very performance in an almost other-worldly like manner, almost like a statue and the audience are spectators that are in awe of such a beauty with a gentle hue of purple and yellow to which went on to win Category Winner of the Year!
Eric von Schulthess set his eyes on the most breath-taking and awe-inspiring view of the charming alpine village, Zermatt that is tucked in the Swiss Alps with the Matterhorn watching its every move, the most iconic and majestic mountains in the world. Zermatt and the monumental Matterhorn is visited by millions and millions of tourists every year who are vying to witness the Matterhorn with their bare eyes.
Von Schulthess photographed the Matterhorn watching the bustling village of Zermatt during Blue Hour, a magical phenomenon that takes place when the sky takes on a deep blue hue that illustrates a surreal and dream-like atmosphere and occurs during twilight. When the sun is below the horizon and the sky is neither completely dark nor fully illuminated.
In the harsh and unforgiving environment of the Arctic, the artic fox finds itself in tranquillity amidst the pristine snow of the Svalbard Islands located between Norway and the North Pole. Do not let its cute appearance fool you in thinking its delicate as they possess remarkable strength and resilience, allowing it to thrive in the most inhospitable climate known to man.
Photographer Marcello Galleano was able to capture a rather photogenic arctic fox staring ever-so-lovingly into the camera with its eyes adorable eyes against a snowy backdrop, it is truly a masterpiece that one must witness. It begs one to think of preserving the fragile ecosystem they call home in order to appreciate this creature from a distance that would not harm them.
