Making video games from concept to the final release version is not an easy task to achieve. In fact, making a full-on video game before the release date is pretty darn difficult! Just like trying to film a movie or making an animated film, we only have the producers, animators and programmers to make that virtual world a reality.
However, there is one underappreciated group of people who is responsible for the success of a video game, and one that is the most important chess piece in all the marketing efforts and developmental stage: The mascots and characters who act as the face of the game themselves! Case in point, we get an exclusive, behind the scenes backstage preview on what really goes on in the development of Cat Heroes, the mobile game to download on your phone now!
In this 1-minute animatic, we see our main characters of Cat Heroes, Max the cat, and Mouse the mouse. In entertainment tabloid fashion, the interviewer grills both parties on their rivalry and hostile actions toward each other during the production of the game.
Max, being the cockiest of the two, dismisses the claims that both actors are indeed great friends behind the scenes and passive-aggressively roasts Mouse for his physical looks. Mouse, obviously peeved by this, takes offense to this remark and then being roasted by Max some more on Mouse not getting the lead role. Where he responds with everybody these days getting a lead role no matter what.
After speaking his mind out loud, Max finally loses his cool and starts to chase Mouse across the set to give him a piece of his mind. All while the narrator tells them to calm down before the title card for the game and the platforms that the game can be downloaded on.
It’s always fun to see a game studio taking the time to show a parodied version of how games are truly made and the characters being treated as movie stars instead!
