Interview With Sun Jian From SunDesign, China

Sun Design is a full-service design company. We serve clients from different countries all over the world. Every job is very challenging. My favorite is the use of Environmentally friendly materials in designs

As a designer, you should know more about the importance of resources and environment.

Good designs must be able to keep up with the development of today's society. A good design must be able to solve problems better, and a good design must be able to continue good tradition in a better way.

First of all, I will do all the sorting out before creation, including market analysis, product research, pairing, the epitome of culture, and finally creativity according to the whole. After that comes the design, and finally presenting satisfactory work to the customers.

My country has 5000 years of history and culture. Ah, there are different design styles and cultural characteristics in different periods. So, I often use some elements in my designs. At the same time, not only my country, but also when I do other works, I will definitely look for the culture of each country.

In 2021, my works won the Gold Award of the New York Product Design Award. This year, I won a Siler Award. For me and my team, whether it is a Gold Award or a Silver Award, it can give us confidence and instil more passion in us. The pursuit of the next stage played a very important role.

Among the previous anti-hair loss shampoo products, there are very few that can make people be aware of hair. This is because we will experience hair loss from time to time, but it is very difficult for us to find a way to make them grow again. Therefore, our packaging design reflects the importance of hair, and we designed products around these elements of hair.

For me, winning the award is very important for the affirmation of my work, and this is my next step. This is one of the motivations for me to create more excellent works that will affect my entire design career.

The first thing is to have good work. Something that is constantly being created.

The second thing is that you can enter the NY Product Design Awards every year.

The third thing is to hope that after winning the award, you will be recognized and known by more people.

Design in China is constantly developing, and I can feel that there are many good design teams and designers in China that are constantly producing works, which also enables Chinese designers to have a place in the entire international environment.

It is difficult to judge the development trend of the design industry in the next five to ten years, because many uncertain factors are constantly happening.

I think you need to fully believe that you can win the awards, but you need to improve on your work, in terms of design abilities and creative meanings.

My personal work has won hundreds of design awards, but I still hope to constantly surpass myself.
