Interview with Natalia Ciobanu from Moldova

Natalia Ciobanu

Natalia Ciobanu is a self-taught photographer who first sank into a lifelong pursuit and passion photography in 2008 and has since then continuously learn as she believes there are no limits in arts and personal development.

I was born in 1989 in Moldova, Chisinau. In 2008 I discovered photography and realised that it will become my lifelong pursuit and passion. I prefer shooting portraits. Also I take great interest in travel photography.

I got into photography very slowly, from passion it became my lifetime aim. I was taking photos for my friends with a very simple, common camera. After, I won some contests so I could by a good camera for shooting and so my path starts.

I study photography by myself. Practice, analysis and passion helps me much to become better and better every time. I continue to learn, because I think there is no limits in arts and personal development.

My first shot was made home and it was a self-portrait. People also inspire me so I start from myself first.

I am using Fujifilm Xt2 camera and these lenses:

XF23mmF2.

XF35mmF2.

XF90mmF2.

XF18-55mmF2.8-4.

I hope to achieve popularity and the name of one of the best portrait photographers on the planet.

I like to hear that my photos looks like a moment from movies but also that I captured not just the body's body, but also the soul of my model.

I am always inspired by people who I shoot. I like our deep connection, atmosphere belong the shooting and the result that will have a value for my models over the years.

3 words that describes my photography style are Unique, Soul, Personal.

This is absolutely fabulous news for me! It means for me that I am at the right way and I want to continue, for sure.

This is one of my newest images, from 2023. "The Creation" make part from big series of images made for artists, one very important for me.

I think it's one of the best images I have made past months, but also, it represents me as an artist so much... the creation is also about. anew beginning.

The Gold Award is a great start for a photographer in 2023!

My favourite photographers are Peter Lindbergh and Sebastiao Salgado.

Believe in yourself and trust your feelings.

My advice is to learn hard, to listen to others, but make your own decisions and don't betray yourself so you'll create your unique style.

Follow your heart and it will guide you to happiness.

It's very important to remain receptive to new information, because it mean I will also develop as a photographer and personality.
