Captivating Nature Photography Exhibited in the 2022 London Photography Awards

The environment has been an impactful discussive matter across the entire world, and with it comes the preservation of nature.

Transcending into the realms of photography, there are a group of passionate individuals who take nature photography to a different level. Freezing the awing beauty of their surroundings, they present the most alluring images that best depict what it’s like to be encapsulated in breath-taking sceneries. Therefore, here are some examples of the most captivating nature photography being displayed in the London Photography Awards.

Circle of life | Lucia Drietomská

In this astounding image of a fox chasing after its’ prey, Lucia presented what it meant to him as the circle of life in the purest form. To top it off, he thinks that the covid situation during 2020 was one of the greatest moments for the world and also the animals in the forests, healing the damages caused to the environment by humans. Taken in the forests of Czech Republic, Lucia used a Nikon D500, which he thinks is the best camera to capture movement.

Goddess dancing all night | Hsiaohsin Chen

Auroras are rays of light that leaves behind astounding traces that light up the night sky, and Hsiaohsin took the rare opportunity to record the Aurora burst that night. Being unusually active, the light tracks were flying unpredictably, which was even so on the riversides in winter, where the reflection of the aurora was also present for the shot.

CARDIAC DANCING | G.B. Smith

Shooting the unique environment and being inspired by the amazing Navajo Nation slot canyons situated in Southwest America, G.B. Smith experienced the serene and spiritual beauty of nature, encasing it in the enormity of scale and time. Over millions of years, the erosion carved our narrow gorges that range from hundreds of feet tall and just a few feet wide. Observed just from the base of the canyon, the ever-changing light from above filters through different angles onto the smooth carved stratified rocks, creating incredible tones, patterns, and a surreal tranquility.

Portrait of Blue | Christie Goldstein

Christie displayed an image, or rather, a portrait of the animals that sometimes reflect their personality through an expression. In her “Portrait of Blue”, she feels that it is very important from her individual perspective, and so does the viewers, as the majestic blue creature seems to be staring directly out of the image, point-blank into the eyes of the audience.

Epic Aoraki | Emanuele Del Bufalo

In this stunning image showcased by Emanuele, he stands on the shores of Lake Hooker, and in front lies Mount Cook, the highest peak in New Zealand. He was waiting for that one moment where the Milky Way reveals its’ enchanting melodies to the world, right after the last lights of sunset fade away. It holds a strong connection to a legend from the Maori, where Aoraki and his 3 brothers formed the mountains and islands now present before the eyes of people
