We’ve all had it drilled into our heads even before going to our very first class: Education is important. It’s something that we take for granted up until a certain point, but we all universally agree that we need it perform the most basic actions in life. But for the other half of the world, education is something of a luxury that many children will never experience and getting the chance to learn about the world around them.
Wanting to bring their tuition-free online learning services to the masses, being the children with big screens in front of their faces, Pearson: Connections Academy teamed up with VSA Partners to up their brand awareness in an advertising campaign to invite knowledge in their noggins and into their homes!
The Invite Knowledge In advertising campaign is split into two different videos. Featuring the same cast of characters in a series of 15 to 30-second adverts spanning across different eras in history and visiting the homes of avid learners. The first involving the famous yellow school bus that we are all far too familiar with. Picking up its final passenger for the day, an astronaut still under the effects of zero gravity, the school bus continues its way to its destination. Sitting inside the vehicle is an abundance of historic characters throughout different periods as well as some fictional ones made with the express purpose of teaching a singular specialized subject.
These diverse cast of characters include, but is not strictly limited to, Romeo and Juliet, Isaac Newton, Cleopatra, Abraham Lincoln, and different warrior classes from different time periods and eras. It wasn’t long until they have finally arrived to their destination, which is the residence of a girl going through her studies with these historic figures as her teachers and mentors to further her studies and improve her grades.
The second video in this series of ad campaigns takes place within the interior of the house of another student also studying for her subjects. Featuring even more figures both of historical importance as well as from fantastical mythologies of the Greek variety. The camera pans out from the kitchen where the remaining characters are taking a break from before moving over to the hallway where the rest of them are queuing up and into a room where Isaac Newton finally ushers Rosa Parks teach a topic she has the most experience in: Civil rights leaders.
There is no doubt that education is important, but it is also the people who instills these lessons who play an exceptionally important role in making this knowledge last a lifetime. Pearson and VSA Partners did a remarkable job in showing what this education platform stands for!
