In constant search of surviving in the world, humankind has repeatedly depleted mother nature’s resources to build a life for society. Even though sustainability has long been practiced in the lives of every inhabitant of the world and with the availability of such has spurred many into living a more ecological manner. However, all our efforts will be in vain if we continue on this hill of ignoring the grave consequences of climate crisis.
Shouldering a great responsibility of calling to the attention of many, Panasonic teamed up with Phelps Creative House with 3 globally celebrated Olympians that shares a compassion in giving back and preserving mother nature for the future generation. Michael Phelps, a former competitive swimmer and the most decorated Olympian with a record of 28 medals, ranked the second tennis player in the world during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics is professional tennis player Naomi Osaka and regarded as the greatest figure skater the world has ever witnessed, an Olympian and a World Champion, Nathan Chen.
The video begins with the 3 Olympians in their own element of sport, respectively, Osaka at a tennis court with luscious greenery in the backdrop, Chen figure skating on a frozen lake in the mountains and Phelps in a spacious swimming pool that overlooks the blue sea. All three Olympians comes to a halt when their surroundings turned bleak in which signifies the repercussions of humankind’s selfishness in shamelessly taking from mother nature. The three individuals present a reminder that everything humankind knows, do and hold dear will be at risk if humanity persists on neglecting mother nature’s rage in exhausting its resources.
Their expressions softened when the video shows the many actions the world can collectively take to making mother nature thrive and it is in those very expressions that shows hope as if they are passing the torch to the future generation to continuously make positive contributions. “Champions for sustainability, champions for each other and champions of the earth”, said all three Olympians in an effort to reach out to humankind and join hands to preserving nature.
With such a masterly-arranged campaign, the Panasonic Green Impact Campaign by Phelps Creative House, it was important to highlight the drastic aftermath of what is bound to come if we as humankind do not band together to creating an equitable future. The music added depth and at the same time subtlety that was brilliantly balanced by the very capable team. Tackling the topic of climate crisis has to be impactful so as to jostle the world and make haste in bringing about a bigger execution to combat such a lethal opponent.
Choosing these very Olympians resembles unity and that unity in turn will be felt by the entire world in encouraging one another to make positive contributions to the planet. Panasonic’s campaign and initiative in addressing and calling the world to battle climate crisis was executed flawlessly and brilliantly with amazing visuals in the background to really drive the audience to not only evoke a sense of appreciation of nature but to ultimately, feel the desperate need to nurture earth in battling climate crisis. The Panasonic Green Impact Campaign was a Platinum Winner in the 2023 LIT Commercial Awards under the category of Marketing/Advertising Campaigns – CSR Programs.
