An annual report is usually drab, boring and filled with facts to appease all the current and potential investors, but once in a while, we are treated to a visual feast that stems genuinely from a large corporation's heart.
Well, NISSIN Food Holding's 2018 annual report is an example of this. Winning the Grand Winner in the NYX Marcom Awards, this annual report is filled with some of the most uniquely Japanese visuals we wouldn't have expected to see from a brochure for prospectors. Come take a look here:
As 2018 marked the 60th anniversary of the invention of Chicken Ramen, the world’s first instant noodles, NISSIN wished to reconfirm its dedication to making the world a better place, as a global company with defining roots in Japan.
Because of this, the very talented SHIAN INC. decided to tell NISSIN’s rich history though a Japanese art style, allowing it to shine with Hiroshige-inspired ukiyo-e illustrations in a four page concertina fold integral with the illustrated cover.
This combination of old and modern art elements expresses a true global and Japanese spirit, allowing NISSIN's awe-inspiring story to really stand out with page after page of pure aesthetics.
The smaller details like paper texturized to look old and portraits of senior executives illustrated in the style of kabuki actors allow readers to really participate in finding out these amazing details as well, making this as possibly one of the most resplendent annual reports we ever had the pleasure to see. Wo-ow-ow indeed!
