Compared to any other nation on this planet, Malaysia is the textbook definition of a melting pot. In fact, Malaysia is probably the one who made that very same pot! You won’t find another country on Earth where a kaleidoscope of different cultures and races mesh together perfectly. Kuala Lumpur is a prime example of this, being the central hub where everyone is seen as friends, neighbors and family no matter the background.
Such a beautiful sight cannot be missed when one steps into the metropolitan city of Kuala Lumpur. And so, the cutting-edge geniuses over at Film Edge Sdn. Bhd. created AirPixel. A project using the latest technology in cinematography and capture the beautiful sights of the daily lifestyle of Malaysia’s capital city of Kuala Lumpur.
The AirPixel project isn’t as easy as you think it is! Instead of renting a DJI drone with a GoPro camera duct taped to it and calling it a day, the crew at Film Edge invested a total of ten months to shoot an aerial video of the cityscape. The first two months entirely dedicated to preparing the necessary equipment to shoot, another two more months to shoot different parts of the city at different times, and the remaining six months dedicated to post processing.
The end result is a serene 6-and-a-half-minute video of stunning 8K footage that captures the marvel of the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. We get an endless stream of amazing B-rolls of the city skyline as viewed in the morning mist at dawn, to the Kuala Lumpur coming to life in the mid-day with clouds circling at the tops of the country’s tallest structures, and then lighting up brightly with a rainbow of colorful lights at night and the very same monuments standing out like obelisks of light.
Although it is a short video, the peeps over at Film Edge hopes that the success of this project will prompt more exciting productions that captures the beauty of Malaysia and inspiring her people to not lose hope. From all of us at Muse.World to the talented crew of Film Edge, you command our everlasting respect and say thank you for sharing the best of your country to the rest of the world!
