He serves as the Director of the Department of Visual Communication at the School of Art, Design & Media, East China University of Science and Technology. With a rich educational foundation spanning both Eastern and Western design philosophies and extensive experience in leading French international design firms, Shan has played a pivotal role in numerous high-profile brand design projects. His portfolio includes collaborations with global giants such as L'Oréal, Nike, Renault, Citroën, Disney, and Nestlé, showcasing a mastery of creative innovation and strategic branding.
Shan’s outstanding contributions have earned him widespread acclaim and numerous international accolades. Renowned for his dedication to excellence and visionary approach, he continues to leave a lasting impact on the design industry. His ability to seamlessly blend cultural influences and create compelling visual narratives solidifies his reputation as a leader in the field, inspiring both his students and peers worldwide.
Klaus Sommer Paulsen
Klaus Sommer Paulsen is a renowned expert in storytelling, media, and experience design, with over 30 years of industry experience and a focus on digital multimedia since the mid-1990s. He is the author of Integrated Storytelling by Design: Concepts, Principles and Methods for New Narrative Dimensions, published by Routledge in 2021.
Paulsen has served on prestigious boards, including the Themed Entertainment Association’s EME Division and International Board of Directors, and collaborates with educational institutions to develop programs from PBAs to MBAs. His innovative approach continues to shape the future of storytelling and design across industries and academia.
Sofia Tavares
Sofia Tavares is the Chief Brand Officer at Preply, spearheading its transformation into a globally recognized brand. With over 20 years of experience in managing global strategies across FMCG companies, her leadership has been pivotal in shaping the identity of major brands. As Senior Vice President of Brand at Delivery Hero, she successfully led global brands like Talabat, PedidosYa, Foodora, and Foodpanda across multiple regions.
Her vast expertise includes roles at renowned companies such as PepsiCo, Bacardi, Cadbury, and PetroChina, where she played a key role in brand development. Fluent in eight languages, Sofia's international background and extensive experience have earned her many accolades.
