1Please give us a brief bio of yourself and your background.

In 2003, I graduated from Northwestern University and studied at Tsinghua University's Interior Design Workshop in 2012.

In 2014, I studied at the School of Design at the Politecnico di Milano, Italy and subsequently set up my own design studio.

2What made you become/why did you choose to become a designer/artist?

I was influenced by my parents from a young age, so my hobbies were very broad, especially in drawing. I have an outgoing personality, so I don't like to be bound. I feel free during my design process, and I can give endlessly to what I'm interested in until I have a result that I'm happy with.

3Tell us more about your business/company, job profile, and what you do.

The company was established in 2014 with a registered capital of 20 million yuan. The company mainly engages in the design and construction of two sectors. I am the founder of the company and I am also responsible for the designs as well.

4What does “design” mean to you?

Design has become an integral part of my life, just like my family and children. My Inspiration comes from our most ordinary life, where I enjoy my life and enjoy designing.

5What’s your favorite kind of design and why?

I really appreciate the works of two design masters, Zaha Hadid and Tadao Ando. In their works, I feel infinite freedom, persistence and perseverance in design. This is also the way I want to go.

6To you, what makes a “good” design?

A good design must be both practical and beautiful.

7Describe your design style and its main characteristics.

My design style is fashion. Fashion means keeping up with the times and adapting to the contemporary social aesthetics. It may contain many architectural and interior styles. The main characteristic is that it is ever-changing and at the same time have their own stylish theme.

8Tell us about your design process.

Project Consultation -- Inspection by Party A and Party B -- Conceptual Plan -- Business Contract -- Design Optimization -- Project Construction.

9Do you think your country and its cultural heritage has an impact on your design process?

Of course, this is our root and it can never be changed. There is more wisdom and philosophy in life waiting for us to realize it, and it also affects our design.

10Congratulations! As the winner of the 2020 MUSE Design Awards, what does it mean to you and your company and team to receive this award distinction?

This is the first time we participate a foreign design award. We are very honored and very happy to receive the award, so that our work can go abroad and be appreciated by more people. We will be more confident to make better works. Let more people know about our passionate, never-failing, stylish personality team.

11Can you explain a bit about the winning work you entered into the 2020 MUSE Design Awards, and why you chose to enter this project?

This work is full of infinite possibilities. The cooperation of customers allows our work to display its unique charm. We want this work to be understood by more people.

12What was the biggest challenge with this project?

Construction difficulty, construction technology and time limitation.

13How has winning an Award developed your practice/career?

Take our design to a brand new level.

14What are your top three (3) favorite things about our industry?

Good works, great designers, good clients.

15What makes your country specifically, unique in the design industry?

National Culture and Spirit.

16Where do you see the evolution of design industry going over the next 5-10 years?

In the future, more independent designers will appear, and at the same time will bring more classic works, some traditional decoration design companies will also be eliminated.

17If you were a student entering this industry or an aspiring MUSE Design Awards submitter, what advice would you give them?

They need to learn more from excellent works and designers at close range.

18What resources would you recommend to someone who wants to improve their skills in the design industry?

Excellent design works and project cases worth learning.

19Tell us something you have never told anyone else.

There are some projects I won't do even if the client gives me money, and there are some projects I'll do even if I have to pay the client.

20Who has inspired you in your life and why?

My family has inspired me. Enjoying design and enjoying life is my goal in life. Everything that is done originates at home and eventually returns home. So it is with design, and so it is with life.

21What is your key to success? Any parting words of wisdom?

Do what you love, even if it's hard and tiring, you should convince yourself to keep going. Enjoy what you have.

22Do you have anything else you would like to add to the interview?

Hopefully there will be more publicity and coverage of the MUSE Awards, online and offline. If there is an opportunity to attend award ceremonies, I would definitely go.
