I am a student of Miami Ad School Hamburg from Canada. I was a psychology major who switched into the field of creative and haven't looked back
I think the world is going completely digital and with that art and design needs to follow. I think being able to create work that people all around the world can see and enjoy and relate to from inside there homes with the click of a button is amazing.
I think online interactive installations or UX design would be my favorite. Being able to create a product that people can use and enjoy and making it as user friendly as possible while solving a problem at hand is always very satisfying.
I think good design is anything that solves the problem or tells the story it needs to. If someone uses it or understand it immediately then you've created a product with good design,.
I think clean and simple, I don't like to over complicate things, creating something that is simple but solves the problem are the best idea and designs.
First finding a problem that needs to be solved, doing as much research into that landscape as possible and then mapping everything out and make sure it all connects well and then begin to complete the design.
Everywhere, I think you can find inspiration in everything, anything that turns on the light bulb in my head to create is always inspiration.
I think how everything is going digital and how more and more people are starting to find solutions using digital design to problems maybe we didn't think we could solve using this tools. Also how universally available the technology to design digitally is becoming, I think it will spark a golden age of design.
It's an incredible honor. My partner and I were beyond excited to learn we had one for our project and it was great to be recognized amongst such amazing work.
We had saw a problem that really spoke to us, the rise in domestic violence. We believe that we could solve this problem or at least help the victims in some way using the technology that's available to every day people. After watching a video about one women's 911 call pretending to order a pizza, we found that Uber Eats would be the perfect application to house our idea to help victims of domestic violence.
I think the biggest challenge was making sure it all worked as we wanted and finding the right app to host the idea. Making sure it was a really possible and that could be done to help people. I think it really shows the power of our technology to do good in the world.
I think it has boosted my confidence and make me able to really believe in my ideas, I think that's one of the hardest part in the create process, to not doubt your ideas.
- Advancements in technology
- Using technology to design and solve problems
- Creating something from nothing and seeing the completed piece from all your hard work
I think Canada has a really unique view of the world, so the insights that people are able to come up with and show the world is great, especially with our big brother from the south usually having the larger budgets compared to us
I think hopefully moving into more UX design, I think that's something of great interest to me that I would like to pursue and I think it will have greater importance as the world goes more digital in the future.
I am a student who will graduate in three weeks, and I think I would tell students to never doubt yourself and if you have a crazy idea to create it and make it something people want to talk about.
I think there's so many online learning tools nowa ays from YouTube, LinkedIn Learning, to Coursera, so if you really want to learn something, I think you can definitely do it with online sources.
I want to freeze myself so I can come back in 1000 years and see the future... or invent time travel, which I can figure out first.
All the creator I met and all the work I see online, because it motivates me to get better at my craft and try new things.
I think key to my success is working hard and not being afraid to try new things. You can be bad at something, but you can control how hard you work at it.
Thank Vega for honoring me with this award. Again, it is a true honor.
Patrick is a fledging creative who takes a liking in clean and simple designs that solve the innate problems, or tells the story it needs to.
