1Please give us a brief bio of yourself and your design background.
I consider myself a product designer with a passion for multidisciplinary exploration. Throughout my design journey, I have delved into diverse projects from environmental design to interaction design and industrial design. Embracing these varied experiences has allowed me to gather valuable knowledge and insights that enable me to build holistic systems around products.
2What made you become/why did you choose to become a designer/artist?
Becoming a designer was a natural choice for me because I've always been drawn to the problem-solving aspect of it. The thrill of finding creative solutions to real-life challenges is incredibly fulfilling. As a designer, I have the opportunity to transform ideas into tangible realities, which is immensely gratifying.
3Tell us more about your agency/company, job profile, and what you do.
I am currently working at an AI company in the United States and I am incredibly excited about the opportunities it presents. As a part of the team, my job profile involves leveraging my design skills to create intuitive and user-centred experiences that integrate AI technologies seamlessly. Working in this AI-focused environment empowers me to contribute to the foreseeable future by enhancing human-technology interactions.
4What does “design” mean to you?
To me, design is a captivating problem-solving process that blends creativity with logic and systematic thinking. It's a methodical approach to crafting solutions that address real-world challenges and improve people's lives.
5What’s your favorite kind of design and why?
My favourite kind of design is one that involves thinking about the entire product ecosystem. I enjoy logical and systematic approaches that consider the user's needs and seamlessly integrate aesthetics and functionality.
6To you, what makes a “good” design?
To me, a ‘good’ design is one that strikes a harmonious balance between being systematic, logical, and user-centred. It should be built upon a well-thought-out structure and clear principles, ensuring coherence and efficiency. The user's needs and goals should be at the core of the design, providing a seamless and intuitive experience. Simultaneously, it should align with the objectives of the service or product supplier, creating a win-win scenario.
7How did you come up with the idea for your award-winning design?
The idea for my award-winning design emerged through a combination of keen observation and in-depth research. By thoroughly examining the existing product system and understanding its strengths and weaknesses, I identified areas for improvement and innovation.
8What was your main source of inspiration for this design?
My main source of inspiration for this design stems from my deep appreciation for thorough research. Throughout the design process, I cherish both user research and market research, along with insights into the company's visions and goals. Gathering all this valuable information allows me to create an extensive information library, where I can organise and retrieve useful data.
9Do you think your country and its cultural heritage has an impact on your design process?
Absolutely, my country and its cultural heritage have a profound impact on my design process. Growing up in a fairly international and diverse environment has provided me with a broader perspective, enabling me to understand different market dynamics, societal structures, and human behaviours. This understanding helps me identify patterns and unique opportunities that may be overlooked by others.
