1Can you introduce yourself and talk about how you got into photography?
Hi! I'm Leka Huie, a photographer born in Hong Kong. I was very interested in many different kinds of photography, and during the 90's I graduated in Creative Photography from Humber College, Toronto, Canada. Within the same year, I received the "Student of the Year" award from the Professional Photographer of Ontario (PPO).
2Where did you study photography?
I studied photography during my college years, I studied and graduated in Creative Photography from Humber College, Toronto, Canada during the 1990's.
3Do you remember your first shot? What was it?
I remember my first shot was of a flower and a flying bee when I was 12 years old.
4What equipment do you use?
The equipments i use is the Nikon D850, Z9 Lenses: Nikkor 24-70mmf2.8, 105mmf2.8, Tamron: 70-200mmf2.8 G2, Power Pack: Balcar 3200 with Z flash heads, and 4x5 camera: Toyo GX2.
5What compliment inspired/touched you the most?
The compliment "Your work is very creative and imaginative" touched me the most. It allowed me to continuously create more creative works.
6What inspires your unique storytelling?
Anything that is interesting and inspiring to audiences.
7What THREE (3) words describe your photography style?
Creative, Imaginative, and Experimental.
8Congratulations! As the winner of the MUSE Photography Awards, what does it mean for you and your team to receive this distinction?
Thank you so much for this! The MUSE Photography Awards mean a lot to me. It increases my self-confidence in my journey in Creative Photography.
9Can you explain a bit about the winning work you entered into the MUSE Photography Awards, and why you chose to enter this project?
My project, the Preiser Miniature Toy Figures, showcases a series of miniature toy figurines, each with unique storytelling and settings in every photo. Captured in various studio setups, this series aims to promote the Preiser brand of miniature toy figures. I believe this project is a perfect fit for the MUSE Photography Awards.
10How has winning an award developed your career?
Winning the MUSE Photography Awards has increased my self-confidence in my journey in Creative Photography. Award-winning photos can display how great my works are to my peers and audiences.

Ansel Adams, Cartier Bresson, and Pete Turner.
12What was the best piece of advice you were given starting out, by a mentor or your role model?
Be patient, be careful, and be hard-working.
13What advice would you give someone who would like to become a photographer today?
Photography is an art of observation; observe more and try hard to make it better.
