1Please give us a brief bio of yourself and your design background.

Ye has many years of experience in hotel and commercial real estate design. He worked in the firm of Cheng Chung Design(CCD). He designed and implemented projects including hotels, clubs, sales department, villas, model rooms and so on.

He has also completed several projects with well-known teams. He has a unique design language in the field of architecture and interior design. His work was awarded Winner Award for OPAL 2019 and Finalist Award for K-DESIGN 2019, and so on.

2What made you become/why did you choose to become a designer/artist?

International design style for different spaces, paving a way towards creative innovation and high quality design.

3What does “design” mean to you?

Aesthetic perception.

4What’s your favorite kind of design and why?

Modern designs that combine the needs of the times to design intelligent design works.

5To you, what makes a “good” design?

It is pleasing to the eye.

6Describe your design style and its main characteristics.

Both modern and Chinese are covered. I simplify unnecessary parts and focus on the overall structure.

7Tell us about your design process.

Combined with the background of the project, the design starts from the oriental philosophy of returning to nature, integrating the natural elements such as wood, water and moon in Chinese cultural tradition into the space, and seeking the poetic state of the fusion of man and nature.

8Do you think your country and its cultural heritage has an impact on your design process?

Influential.

9Congratulations! As the winner of the 2020 MUSE Design Awards, what does it mean to you and your company and team to receive this award distinction?

A glorious honor.

10Can you explain a bit about the winning work you entered into the 2020 MUSE Design Awards, and why you chose to enter this project?

It is not easy to find a quiet side in the busy life today. Only by introducing nature into the home, the space is self-contained in the simplicity of it, so that the family feel a calm state of mind.

11What was the biggest challenge with this project?

From the point of view of environmental protection, the use of branches to make handicrafts.

12What are your top three (3) favorite things about our industry?

Design, innovation, and high quality.

13What are your top three (3) favorite things about the digital industry?

It’s always changing, evolving. Allows you to work in a global manner with teams from around the world. Endless possibilities.

14 Where do you see the evolution of design industry going over the next 5-10 years?

More and more focus towards environmental protection and intelligence.

15If you were a student entering this industry or an aspiring MUSE Design Awards submitter, what advice would you give them?

Do not forget the design of the initial mind and continue to work hard.

16What resources would you recommend to someone who wants to improve their skills in the design industry?

Design materials for inspiration design.

17Who has inspired you in your life and why?

Peer exchanges and the continuous progress in exchanges.
