My name is Mou Dong. After graduating in Shanghai GA in 2012, I began my career as a designer. I founded MN design at 17 years old as a design director.

My love of painting as a child is the main reason I chose to become a designer. When I was little, I travelled abroad, and to see the European countries of architectures and designs confirmed my will to become a designer.

The company mainly engages in interior design, with commercial real estate and high-end private residence as the main design content as the ultimate pursuit of innovative natural architectural space and integration of humanities.

To me, design is like having a child, where I need to carefully nurture, care for, accompany, and correct.

I like architecture and interior design for its integration with people. It’s natural and pure, so I always want to pursue that perfect piece of integration between human and natural architecture.

I have no fixed design style. I like to do extension fo spaces that allows people to have natural dialogues with spaces presented to them.

I like the breadth and depth of China, where its culture, traditions, clothings, and so on have become an integral part of my design.

I would like to thank the MUSE Design Awards for recognizing our company. This allows us to spur on and make efforts to live up to the distinction.

The biggest challenge is the narrow space. We have to level the space so that there is a blend of scenery, water, and landscape while meeting the function of an actual space at the same time.

Chinese design has advanced from the ancient times to the present. Previously called craftsmen, they created exquisite technology and created countless ‘miracles’. While the latter may be somewhat backward, the Chinese culture has always supported us to move forward together.

Actively participate in competitions filled with excellent designers, do not worry about failure, and only recognize their own shortcomings to pursue a better version of themselves.

Resources are all around us. Resources are life itself, originating from life and serving life. Go out and see more, experience different worlds, cultures, traditions, history, architecture, etc.

Success is only for those who are prepared, because we are constantly striving for perfection.
