LeAnna Weller Smith has over 22 years of Design experience and has worked within Design, Marketing, Corporate and Cultural Advertising, and Book/Magazine Publishing. She started her freelance career 17 years ago and officially opened the doors of Weller Smith Design in 2014.
2Tell us a bit about your business and what you do.
Weller Smith Design is a Full-Service Design and Strategy Agency with a seasoned team of experts in Design, Strategy, and Development. WSD works with creative small business owners, non-profits, entrepreneurs, and self-publishers to build their brands.
3Congratulations! As the winner of the 2019 Muse Awards, what does it mean to you and your company and team to receive this award distinction?
Winning this Muse Award for the work that we have produced is such an honor. To be among so many amazing companies and stunning work is an honor and I am glad to have this acknowledgment of our hard work for our client and our team.
4Can you explain a bit about the winning work you entered into the 2019 Muse Awards, and why you chose to enter this project?
We won a Rose Gold Award for the full rebrand and web design for our clients, Rick and Julie Allen, Owners of Informed Athlete (www.informedathlete.com). During this project, we worked closely with Julie and Rick to UpLevel their brand presence and to reorganize and redesign their website. We chose to enter this project because we are not only proud of the visual outcome, but also the results and ROI that this work has provided to our client and their business.
5What was the biggest challenge with this project?
One of the biggest challenges with this site was the amount of content and the complex organization needed to run the back end of this website. While, that could have been daunting, we worked closely with the client to produce a powerful online presence that has proven to attract and retain the ideal customers that they are looking for.
6What are your top three (3) favorite things about our industry?
My top 3 favorite things about our industry are:
- The opportunity to keep learning and experimenting.
- The ability to impact and touch the lives of those that come in contact with our work.
- The creativity that surrounds us every day...in print, on the web, in the environment, and beyond.
