Interview with the 2019 Muse Design Awards Winner - Chih-Yuan, Hung

1Please give us a brief bio of yourself, your company, job profile, etc.
I was enlightened by a university professor back then. Since then, I followed the path to architectural design and never stopped. My journey to becoming an architect started when I traveled to India in 2008. During the first few years in the real world, it dawned on me that design plays a major role in communicating at all levels. We are so in love with the relationship between humans and space.
2Tell us a bit about your business and what you do.
We are a passionate team of designers collaborating across different disciplines to practice urban design, landscape design, architectural design, and interior design, established in 2009. We live like travelers and work fearlessly.
3Congratulations! As the winner of the 2019 Muse Awards, what does it mean to you and your company and team to receive this award distinction?
Having a sip of coffee and wonder how our next project could bring out a sense of character in my sight of view as well as continue doing what we love to do.
4Can you explain a bit about the winning work you entered into the 2019 Muse Awards, and why you chose to enter this project?
We love the trophy and we wanted to be a part of the competition.
5What was the biggest challenge with this project?
Mostly everything, at least in some ways.
6How has winning an Award developed your practice/career?

There was a moment of affirmation in a young architect's life.
7What are your top three (3) favorite things about our industry?
Discuss space, the relationship between man and nature, extending our imagination of life.
8What makes your country specifically, unique in the creative industry?
Taiwan is a society in which many ethnic groups are integrated. The multi-geographical nature of small islands also makes it different in each city.
9Where do you see the evolution of creative industry going over the next 5-10 years?
Integration of digital design, behavioral design, and architectural design.
10If you were a student entering this industry or an aspiring Muse Award submitter, what advice would you give them?
Do your best and give it your all!
11What resources would you recommend to someone who wants to improve their skills in the creative industry?
Always stay true.
12Who has inspired you in your life and why?
It’s not a person but movies, pens, and coffee.
13What is your key to success? Any parting words of wisdom?
Practice constantly.
