Empty classrooms. Quiet hallways. Lonely libraries. Silent auditoriums. School has never been this quiet with only the sound of the school bell periodically ringing ever since the Covid-19 pandemic hit in 2020.
To curb the spread, schools from all over the world effectively closed down and to continue conducting their classes through online platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other online learning platforms to effectively hand out assignments and tests. While this continues to work, Google stepped and streamlines the entire learning experience with Google Classroom to better connect teachers with their students and get them to learn in a fun and effective way.
In Optic Sky Productions’ short, but informational infographic. It showcases some of the many features that Google has created from scratch. The first of which being an incredibly simply, yet intuitive user interface that is easy for grade schoolers to navigate across different pages and school subjects.
The video then cuts to a teacher preparing a set of questions and answers in a different page. However, rather than having it be an open-ended question where students can give their own interpretations, she turns it into a game of Kahoot! to make the learning experience a little more fun and engaged.
Google Classroom also acts as a social media hub for school and education. With each page holding their of tabs for different use cases and even storing student assignments and learning material for the entire semester. Teachers and students can even interact with one another through comments.
And just like Zoom, Google Classroom allows for face-to-face communication through devices like laptops and PCs via webcam. Thus making teaching classrooms filled with students an engaging one just like before.
Thankfully, schools have returned to normal. However, Google Classroom still remains as an incredibly important tool that every teacher in the world should take advantage of to help their students succeed in their studies!
