Let’s set the scene: A dignified lady living the suburban life with everything she could ever need. Menopause still years ahead of her, and she can’t help but ponder over this mini mid-life crisis. And after careful consideration with her loved ones and friends, she finally makes that decision of getting implants. Dental implants, of course!
No matter how good we take care of our teeth, it’s only a matter of time when we slip up or miss our annual dental appointment and then ultimately losing our precious teeth in the long run! So, getting dental implants may sound like a great long-term investment until old in age, with the added benefits of looking great too! For the Center for Implant Dentistry, they got Scope Studios to get to work on creating a fun advert that breaks the norms of their previous marketing campaigns!
The advert titled ‘Getting Implants’ starts off with a middle-aged couple in their bedroom with the wife getting ready for her duties of the day while breaking the news to her husband still in bed on making her final decision to get implants. Upon hearing this piece of information, the husband immediately looks up with sparkle in his eyes and cannot help but smile brightly at his wife’s prospects.
Fast forward to her luncheon with her friends, after breaking the news to them, they are curious to know why she had suddenly made her decision to get implants at her age. She then responds that it is more of a ‘quality of life’ change that she needs and wanting to make sure that what she has now is exactly the way she wants them to be in the future.
Cutting forward into the future some more, she is now on a walk with another friend of hers, who had also heard of her decision to get implants and then raising the concern of whether or not the implants she will be getting would look too fake. In which she rebuts the claim saying with the advances in healthcare and medical technology now, it’ll look extremely natural and well done.
Moving even further forward into the future and at the final act of the advert, she finally got her implants. But the changes aren’t too visible at first and it looks like she didn’t do too much or backed out from it. The narrator then interjects and notifies us that she did not get breast implants, but rather, dental implants as she chews on a piece of steak cooked medium-well. Then the Center for Implant Dentistry rolls.
Scope Studios has done it again with a subversive advert on the benefits of having dental implants and getting straight to the point in a comedic way. So when getting older and the condition of the teeth isn’t what it used to be, getting implants wouldn’t too bad of an idea in the long-term!
A serious advert covering a non-serious situation in real life that we may have faced before, read about how this one does everything right!
