A World of Survival and Struggle
Drawing inspiration from games like Frostpunk and Bioshock, as well as the stylistic impact of Arcane by League of Legends, Boyuan Shi has crafted a city that’s as rich in atmosphere as it is in narrative depth. In Frozen City, artist Boyuan invites viewers into a breathtaking yet unforgiving world where an eternal winter shapes the lives of its inhabitants. This digital art series, brimming with meticulous details and world-building, feels like a scene straight from a fully realized game or film.
The heart of Frozen City lies within its core contrast: a rugged, snow-covered metropolis divided by wealth and circumstance. On one side, near a freezing, unyielding quarry, workers toil day and night. Their daily reality is defined by a harsh existence, chipping away at the stone to sustain the city. Wrapped in layers to withstand the bitter cold, these laborers symbolize resilience and determination.
