1Congratulations on your LIT Music Awards achievement! Could you share more about your journey and background in the music industry?

I discovered my deep passion for music during high school and college, experimenting with songwriting and crafting lyrics that expressed my thoughts and emotions.

My oldest brother was in a band and played guitar, which gave me some early exposure to music, but I didn’t grow up in a particularly musical household. Without formal training, I carved my own path—developing my skills independently and learning through experience.

I immersed myself in the industry, collaborated with extraordinarily talented and pioneering artists, and continually refined my craft. Most importantly, I embraced growth: learning by doing, welcoming constructive criticism, and staying persistent. These lessons became the foundation of my success.

My influences span decades, and I have a deep appreciation for the emotionally charged sound of Classic Rock from the '60s, '70s, and '80s. I grew up captivated by legendary metal bands like Iron Maiden, Ronnie James Dio, Poison, and Ratt—artists who masterfully channel emotion and deliver extraordinary guitar work.

Extensive travel has also exposed me to diverse musical traditions, broadening my perspective and deepening my appreciation for music as a global language.

2How do you see this recognition influencing your future music?

Receiving top honors for Best Pop Song and Best Music Video from the LIT Music Awards has deeply affirmed my journey as a writer, composer, producer, and recording artist. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and joy for this incredible recognition—not in one, but two categories.

This achievement strengthens my commitment to creating feel-good, inspirational music that blends meaningful lyrics with a sound that resonates with even the most discerning industry professionals.

3What's the moment you first realized music was your calling? Can you describe it?

My journey with music has been one of both passion and struggle—a love-hate relationship that unfolded over many years. But in the last decade, I discovered my true artistic voice—a turning point that not only deepened my connection to music but also solidified my dream.

That realization brought everything together: the ability to produce, sing, write, record, and mix. Finding my voice was the missing piece, and once I had it, I knew with certainty that music was my calling.

4What's the most unusual source of inspiration you've drawn from while creating your music?

My most unusual source of inspiration is the tapestry of experiences that have shaped my life. Over the years, I’ve encountered a wide spectrum of emotions, challenges, and growth—all of which leave a mark that naturally finds its way into my music.

These personal moments help me craft lyrics that are both meaningful and emotionally resonant, translating my journey into songs that connect deeply with listeners.

5Do you have any quirky rituals or habits when you're composing or recording?
My creative process thrives in the quiet solitude of night. While the rest of the household sleeps, I retreat—often still in pajamas—to my basement studio to record. It’s the only time I can fully focus, free from distractions. That late-night stillness brings a unique kind of inspiration and has become essential to my routine.
6How would you describe your creative process? Is it more of a jazz jam session or a perfectly orchestrated symphony?
I would describe my creative process as an electrifying rock fest—spontaneous, raw, and fueled by emotion. Rather than following a structured formula, I allow inspiration to strike organically, waiting for that powerful emotional connection that sparks the essence of the next song. It’s an unpredictable journey, one where creativity unfolds in unexpected ways, leading to music that feels authentic and deeply resonant.
7How do you want people to feel or experience when they hear your music?

I want each song to offer a distinct and memorable experience, ensuring that no two compositions feel the same. My music is crafted to deliver profound lyrics with meaningful depth, encouraging listeners to connect on a deeper level.

Above all, I strive to evoke a positive emotional response, inspiring and uplifting those who engage with my work.

8What's one risk you took with your music that completely changed your career path?

One significant risk I took in my music career was fully committing to the independent route, which required substantial time, effort, and financial investment. Beyond honing my craft, I had to develop social media and marketing skills to effectively promote my work.

Understanding that financial returns wouldn't be immediate, I made the difficult decision to invest heavily upfront, knowing that building a sustainable music career takes persistence, strategic planning, and long-term dedication.

9What's the song or artist that first made you fall in love with music, and why?
My love for music was ignited years ago when my friends introduced me to Iron Maiden. Their album Piece of Mind resonated deeply, capturing my attention with its raw emotion, intense energy, and profound lyrical depth. It was a transformative experience that shaped my appreciation for music and its ability to evoke powerful feelings.
10What's one moment in your career that you consider a turning point, and how did it shape your journey?

One pivotal moment in my career was when I connected with my sister-brother consulting team. At a time when I felt uncertain about how to elevate my music to the next level, they provided invaluable guidance and support.

Their expertise and encouragement were instrumental in helping me refine my vision, navigate the industry more effectively, and set a clear path forward for my growth as an artist.

11If you could describe your award-winning work in a single sentence, what would it be?
"Just Wanna Be With You" is a deeply personal Rock ‘N’ Roll tribute, honoring the life, love, and sacrifices of my late mother, celebrating her enduring spirit and the dreams she never pursued.
12What was the most challenging part of creating this piece, and how did you push through?

The most challenging aspect of creating this piece was the extensive time and effort required to perfect every detail. The composition underwent a complete rewrite, the lyrics were meticulously refined, and I had to patiently wait for renowned award-winning drummer Kenny Aronoff to finish his tour before completing the drum track.

The final stages involved an intensive process of mixing and fine-tuning every element to ensure the song met my highest artistic standards.

13What upcoming music project or album are you currently working on, or is there a new genre or style you’ve yet to explore but are eager to try?
My upcoming song, Victory, is a high-energy, adrenaline-fueled track designed to motivate and inspire. Its powerful, driving sound makes it an ideal anthem for sporting events or an intense workout session, delivering an electrifying boost to keep listeners pushing forward.
14If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be, and what would the vibe of your track together be?

Collaborating with any of the legendary rock artists from the '80s would be an incredible experience. Their music was defined by raw emotion, powerful lyrics, and electrifying energy—elements that are often missing in today's mainstream sound.

My goal would be to revive that spirit, bringing back the bold, high-energy rock ‘ROKITA’ style to reinvigorate the genre and create something truly unforgettable.

15How would you inspire fellow musicians to participate in music awards, and what valuable advice would you share to guide their journey?

Perseverance is key in the journey of a musician, and participating in music awards can be a valuable opportunity for growth and recognition. The path is long, requiring continuous improvement with every project—stagnation comes from a lack of evolution.

Embracing constructive criticism from industry professionals is essential; their insights can provide meaningful guidance. By thoughtfully incorporating their feedback into your work, you refine your craft, broaden your perspective, and enhance your artistry. Stay dedicated, remain open to learning, and view each challenge as a step toward success.
