Flavorful and playful, the restaurant is one place not to be missed.

Recently winning the Platinum Award in the 2019 MUSE Design Awards in Interior Design, Bishop Design’s Torno Subito is the latest addition to World No.1 Chef Massimo Bottura’s ever expanding compilation of world class restaurants worldwide.

Designed to be playful and a direct reflection to Bottura’s colorful childhood, Torno Subito is adorned with bright visuals and innovative use of space, allowing the venue to be an instant hit in W Hotel Dubai.

"The design of the restaurant brings nothing but fun, color and nostalgia to Dubai’s food and beverage landscape. Whilst Massimo is not the direct chef at the helm in this destination, the story behind the design is inspired by his own memories of Italian summers back in the 1950’s and 60’s,” Paul Bishop, Founder of Bishop Design, said.

The nostalgic narrative plays from the moment you enter, from the black and white suspended polaroid photos to the tongue-in-cheek beachball lighting. This results in a thematic and resplendent take that is not seen elsewhere in the burgeoning Middle East region.

Playing on the technological and creative industry in Dubai, Bishop Design takes notice on how alternative, more liberal designs can impact the food and beverage scene, creating designs that are ahead of their time.

“We at Bishop Design are recognized for consistently breaking boundaries, and we take pride in that!”, Bishop said. “The UAE has a diverse cultural heritage and honed one some of the world’s most impressive achievements, so that influences my design process as well.”

Bishop is also very happy to win the 2019 MUSE Design Awards, where he knows his design is now being validated by an international creative body.
