1Please give us a brief bio of yourself and your background.

Our designer Vincent Lai is a professionally trained interior designer with strengths in spatial sense and sophisticated details. Vincent expresses strong images of harmony, continuity and unity in every piece of his works.

2What made you become/why did you choose to become a designer/artist?

We want to use design as a media to serve people in their daily lives with the power of art.

3Tell us more about your business/company, job profile, and what you do.

We are a company with more than 25 years history with rich experience in dealing with property development projects, iconic commercial spaces and private homes

4What does “design” mean to you?

Design is theoretically a technique to solve problems of “defected perfection”.

5What’s your favorite kind of design and why?

A design can simply serve functional purpose with maximum artistic skills through minimal details and minimal damage to the environment.

6Describe your design style and its main characteristics.

Flexible style with strong sense of line and form.

7Tell us about your design process.

Analysis of site comes first, followed by fitting-in of functions. The introduction of forms is then followed by reality of functions, before finally incorporating color schemes according to the character of client and the nature of the project.

8Do you think your country and its cultural heritage has an impact on your design process?

A little.

9Congratulations! As the winner of the 2020 MUSE Design Awards, what does it mean to you and your company and team to receive this award distinction?

It is really a significant acknowledgement of our loyalty to the profession and our clients! With this new milestone, we shall have even stronger eagerness to strive on.

10Can you explain a bit about the winning work you entered into the 2020 MUSE Design Awards, and why you chose to enter this project?

It is a project we do not merely proud of its style, but grateful for the unique testimony of a designer-client interacted result rooted in professional mutual trust.

11What was the biggest challenge with this project?

The diligence and patience for executing the pureness of forms and materials.

12How has winning an Award developed your practice/career?



It is yet to be discovered, but it sure puts us further into the depths of international recognition.

13What are your top three (3) favorite things about our industry?

Integrity, passion, flare.

14What makes your country specifically, unique in the design industry?

The blooming building industry.

15Where do you see the evolution of design industry going over the next 5-10 years?

Terms of “environment” and “experience” will be redefined with virtual means.

16If you were a student entering this industry or an aspiring MUSE Design Awards submitter, what advice would you give them?

Be ready for every impact and think ahead of the trends while keep morally unique on the basis of humanity.

17What resources would you recommend to someone who wants to improve their skills in the design industry?

Keep entering competitions, no matter if you're awarded or not.

18Who has inspired you in your life and why?

Thoughts of design masters and philosophers, and most significantly, my God, the Creator.

19What is your key to success? Any parting words of wisdom?

Be loyal to whoever that treats you sincerely and be faithful to whoever entrusts you earnestly.
