3Congratulations! As the winner of the 2019 Muse Awards, what does it mean to you and your company and team to receive this award distinction?
These awards mean a lot to our design team. The competition is an essential international arena to test our design capability and creativity.
4Can you explain a bit about the winning work you entered into the 2019 Muse Awards, and why you chose to enter this project?
We have submitted 5 work projects in Packaging Design Catagory:
• Healthy Food Healthy Life,
• Raimaijon Sugarcane Juice,
• LEO Aluminum Bottle Limited Edition,
• Diamond Grains Surprise Box,
• Doi Chaang Coffee
We selected those work projects into the competition because the design ideas and concepts are different from others in the market.
5What was the biggest challenge with this project?
We would like to take the work project "Healthy Food Healthy Life" for an example. This rice is produced by ancient Thai wisdom rice farming includes soil preparation using buffalo, seedling preparation and transplanting, hand sowing, etc. We have therefore taken advantage of this distinction of rice production process. The picture carving on the wood block of rice seed represents steps of growing rice for each single rice seed. The concept of processing perfection in each seed of jasmine rice is conveyed through the packaging design.
6How has winning an Award developed your practice/career?
We have researched repeatedly to confirm that each and every piece of our work hits and corresponds to the needs of the target group and is distinctive among others in the market. This is always our main important objective.
7What are your top three (3) favorite things about our industry?
Galleries are the places where the work of art are exhibited whereas supermarket shelves are the places where packaging designs are displayed.
Packaging design needs many information and wide range of knowledge not only the making of package but also branding, marketing, material science, production process, etc . This demands us to always keep up with new technology.
We have often learnt from our customers many challenging problems which gives us experiences and expertise.
8What makes your country specifically, unique in the creative industry?
What makes Thailand so different from other countries in the region is not only tradition and customs, but the lifestyle of Thai people is of the easy type; unplanned, enjoyable, humorous and friendly. All these Thai characteristics reflect through creative advertising which shows simplicity and humor.
9Where do you see the evolution of creative industry going over the next 5-10 years?
The packaging industry evolution will be towards the plastic substitution material which is heavily polluting the world. The non-recyclable packaging business has to adapt with the trends.
10If you were a student entering this industry or an aspiring Muse Award submitter, what advice would you give them?
In the packaging design industry, the international competition is a good way for a student to prove his design idea and to gain experience.
11What resources would you recommend to someone who wants to improve their skills in the creative industry?
Three most important points in creative industry are:
1. gathering information
2. analyzing information
3. creativeness
12Tell us something you have never told anyone else.
Creativity is most important now and the future.
13Who has inspired you in your life and why?
My parents.
14What is your key to success? Any parting words of wisdom?
Determination, endeavor.
