1Please give us a brief bio of yourself, your company, job profile, etc.
I am Joyce Penas Pilarsky and I am an international fashion and jewelry designer.
2Tell us a bit about your business and what you do.

3Congratulations! As the winner of the 2019 Muse Awards, what does it mean to you and your company and team to receive this award distinction?
It means a lot to me to win this prestigious award. It gives me more inspiration to be more creative.
4Can you explain a bit about the winning work you entered into the 2019 Muse Awards, and why you chose to enter this project?
I'm so proud of my winning work because I can show the world the beauty of nature through my work.
5What was the biggest challenge with this project?
The biggest challenge is how to best present the shells because it's so fragile in the designs that I made and how to put them together to create an impact.
6How has winning an Award developed your practice/career?

Winning an award makes me strive for more and challenges me to try new things to incorporate in my work.
7What are your top three (3) favorite things about our industry?
The top 3 favorite things about the industry are you are as free and as expressive as you want to be and you can do what you believe is the best way you can present your craft.
8What makes your country specifically, unique in the creative industry?
I think each country is unique it's the creativity of our people that makes it stand out from the rest. The way we combine our materials.
9Where do you see the evolution of creative industry going over the next 5-10 years?
I think in the next 6 to 7 years we will see more recycled materials and more practical ones for everyday use.
10If you were a student entering this industry or an aspiring Muse Award submitter, what advice would you give them?
The advice I could give to students is to be themselves and express their own ideas and be original.
11What resources would you recommend to someone who wants to improve their skills in the creative industry?
I believe that it's important for people to learn more by reading more and experimenting with new things.
12Tell us something you have never told anyone else.
What I never told anyone is that I always ask advice from my deceased parents for every major decision I make.
13Who has inspired you in your life and why?
My big inspiration is my parents because they taught me to fear God and they taught me all the virtues that I needed to be a good example of a person who has integrity and is hard working. But humble and compassionate and loving and somebody who can touch other people's lives with the use of the talents God has given me.
14What is your key to success? Any parting words of wisdom?
The key to success, in my opinion, is to pray for everything and to do your best in everything that you do and to give God all the Glory.
15Do you have anything else you would like to add to the interview?
I believe that talent is not enough. It is the love and the passion and the tenacity and patience and determination to reach whatever goals you have that make a person achieve more in life. And remember that whatever obstacles you face just never give up until you reach your dream.
