Interview with the 2019 Muse Creative Awards Winner - Francesco Milanesio

1Please give us a brief bio of yourself, your company, job profile, etc.
Francesco Milanesio, Executive Creative Director at Triplesense Reply.

I'm passionate about innovative solutions that assist brands to entertain, inspire, and inform; creating beautiful ideas, products and services.

I’ve designed integrated communication plans, services, digital brand experiences and content for global and local brands such as FCA, Ferrari, Google, Nestlé, Procter & Gamble, and Samsung.

Since 2016, I have been Executive Creative Director and UX lead at Triplesense, a design and creative consulting firm that aims to address and improve digital interaction and engagement between people, products and brands, through user-centered design.

I don’t believe in stories, but I love telling them.

Specialties: digital design, integrated communication, UX/UI, storytelling.
2Can you explain a bit about the winning work you entered into the 2019 Muse Awards, and why you chose to enter this project?
Our goal was to create a video inviting people to discover the Poltrona Frau Museum, opened to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the company.

A magical place in the heart of the Marche region in Italy, it’s an exhibition space of 1400 square meters designed and interpreted by the architect Michele De Lucchi, and now encapsulated in an emotive video.

The secret of success for each piece of furniture by Poltrona Frau is "the intelligence of the hands" of its craftsmen. Aiming for the same craftsmanship and care in every detail, we created our motion graphic video.
3What was the biggest challenge with this project?
Our biggest challenge was to find a 2D treatment capable of mixing illustration, photography and graphics in a unique and recognisable style that conveyed the value of craftsmanship in Poltrona Frau products.
4How has winning an Award developed your practice/career?
Winning a prize leads to great satisfaction for the work we’ve done - that's why it's important to celebrate - but at the same time, it's an incentive to improve in order to win the next one.
5If you were a student entering this industry or an aspiring Muse Awards submitter, what advice would you give them?
Submit the jobs that won't let you sleep at night and make you work on weekends - but in the end you really love them.
