HOU CLUB, designed by Chengdu SCATTER SPACE Decoration Design Co., Ltd., merges old-school theater elegance with modern nightlife energy, wrapping guests in rich textures, moody lighting, and bold architectural contrasts.
Dressed for the night, stepping through the doors, there’s an instant shift—a quiet pull into something curated yet effortless. The dim glow catches just right, the air hums with the low murmur of conversation, and the textures invite a lingering touch. This is not your ordinary recreational space but a space that holds onto you, shaping the way the night moves. When design transitions flawlessly with atmosphere, leaving feels like an afterthought, and staying becomes the only natural choice.
In the heart of Chengdu’s Financial City, where energy and elegance comes together, HOU CLUB redefines the nightlife experience in China. Perched on the second floor of Huijincheng, it introduces the city’s first hall-style amateur singing venue, a space where music, technology, and atmosphere come together in perfect rhythm. A welcoming stage where voices break free and where the night unfolds without restraint, every guest becomes part of the performance.
The spatial design of HOU CLUB is a deliberate fusion of nostalgia and modern indulgence, carefully balancing social interaction, performance, and ambiance. It cultivates an atmosphere where guests can lose themselves in conversation, rhythm, and the sheer joy of expression. Inspired by the timeless elegance of old-school theaters, the design embraces deep, velvety textures, ornate detailing, and dramatic lighting, all softened by the unrestrained energy of contemporary bar culture. The space unfolds like a cinematic experience with gold accents glint under low-hanging chandeliers, plush seating invites long, lingering nights, and the walls echo with melodies that carry into the early hours.
Crafted by the visionary minds at Chengdu SCATTER SPACE Decoration Design Co., Ltd., HOU CLUB is a masterful blend of structure, atmosphere, and social energy. The designers effortlessly merged glass bricks and metal elements, balancing functionality with the grandeur of an old-school theater. Red velvet drapes the space, heightening visual intensity while infusing the environment with a subtle, enigmatic allure with a tempting invitation to linger, connect, and immerse in the moment.
The spatial composition is carefully orchestrated, with a small stage serving as the focal point, naturally drawing attention before expanding into the grandeur of the main stage. Every element is designed to guide the eye, enhancing engagement with live performances while maintaining a sense of intimacy within the larger, dynamic setting.
Sustainability is woven into the very essence of the design, where aesthetics and responsibility go hand in hand. Recycled wood lends a sense of organic warmth, while low-VOC paint ensures a cleaner, healthier atmosphere; choices that are as considerate to the environment as they are to the experience within. Every element is a quiet nod to the future, allowing the space to breathe naturally while reducing its ecological footprint which earned them a Platinum win in the 2024 MUSE Design Awards under the category of Interior Design – Recreation Spaces.
