Global Issues Present
With global issues happening in every corner of the world, Kazutoshi Kawakami passionately produced an art piece that delves into the issues of global hunger. With over 10% of the world population affected, global environmental problems are happening prominently together.
His creation portrays a desolate landscape, adorned with barren branches and twisted steel, serving as a stark representation of depleted natural resources and devastated animal habitats. Within this bleak setting, elephants, symbolic of the wider ecosystem, are depicted struggling amidst the destruction, reaching desperately for the last remaining leaf, their sole source of sustenance.
Stark Disparities Exist
This striking artwork serves as a sobering reminder of the stark disparities existing in our world. Many lead relatively comfortable lives, millions face the harsh realities of food shortages, hunger, pollution, and environmental disasters daily. Through his poignant portrayal, Kazutoshi urges to confront these harsh truths and acknowledge the urgency of addressing these global issues.
By showcasing the elephants in a state of despair and desperation, as they fight for survival in a ravaged habitat, Kazutoshi compels masses to recognise the gravity of the global issues present.
