Diving into the heart of creativity and innovation, Joker Xue's "Extraterrestrial" World Tour Live takes the concert experience to an entirely new dimension. Orchestrated by Beijing Showin, the production company behind this ambitious project, the concert is a masterclass in how to weave storytelling into a live performance, blending music, cinema, and theatricality into a cohesive and immersive narrative.
At the core of this spectacle is the intriguing tale of an "Interstellar Executive Officer" tasked with executing the "Earth Saving Plan." This narrative unfolds across several captivating chapters including "Extraterrestrial Objects," "Scramble for Spaceship Ticket," "Time and Space Travel," and "Protection of the Earth." Each segment of the story propels the audience through an engaging journey, making them active participants in a quest to save the planet.
The concert's design ingeniously employs the stage, lighting, visual effects, and props to plunge the audience into the heart of the story. The staging is nothing short of a technical marvel, transforming the concert venue into a spaceship bound for interstellar adventures. This effect is achieved through a complex orchestration of lighting instruments strategically positioned above the stage. The design integrates a multi-tiered lighting layout within the structure of the spaceship stage, while vertical light arrays flanked by movable LED screens create a dynamic visual tapestry that shifts and evolves throughout the performance.
In total, the production utilizes over 2,000 lamps, 28 movable LED screen groups, and 250 CNC motors to bring its visually stunning lighting effects to life. These elements work in concert to illuminate the stage and to shape and define the atmosphere of each narrative chapter, guiding the audience's emotions and heightening their sense of immersion.
Remarkably, the concert also extends its narrative reach into the audience, with light sticks that play an integral part in the visual storytelling. These light sticks are crafted from biodegradable and recyclable materials, underscoring the concert's overarching theme of environmental stewardship. This thoughtful detail emphasizes the message that each attendee plays a role in the larger story of protecting the planet, blending the boundaries between performance and participation.
