Understanding the importance of both sides of good and bad, Oi Lin Irene Yeung takes this in careful consideration and implements them into her designs!
I am a Hong Kong based designer and studied marketing & graphic design in tertiary education. After graduation, I was self-taught in product design while having over 20 years working experience in sheet metalworking industry.
I wanted to be an artist in childhood, and now working in my dream job as a artist and designer.
I set up a design studio in Hong Kong, Derangedsign, and deliver projects with minimalist designs and philosophic ideas.
Design is a way to bring creativity and artistry to daily lives. It's also a solution to improve people livings and making a better world.
Metalware. Because there is no greater satisfaction than seeing your design being translated into something that can last forever.
This question leads to another question to me always:
How can I make use of my designs to inspire others of treasuring our precious moment of living & working, cultures, the loved ones & our motherland?
Minimalist Metalware. Simple designs that stand the test of time with a durable, flexible, and beautiful material.
Definitely! I try to put elements of culture and philosophy in my design works.
Great honor to be accredited by the MUSE Awards, and it means a lot to us and encourage us to design more products with meanings and messages.
Coexistence is a set of 2 stainless steel trays, it has a lots inside, just like an art sculpture but not only a simple tabletop item.
The design of one unique mold to make 2 different trays should be the biggest challenge.
Our brand gains more recognition from the international design awards and more exposure and opportunities of cooperation offered from different countries.
Design is very interesting and I just can’t stop brainstorming and super eager to develop the images from my brain into the real items, full of satisfaction.
I was born and living in Hong Kong, where is a place “East Meets West”, this is unique I think. The Hong Kong Culture inspires me to create some designs of metalware mixed with Asian philosophy.
There will be more interaction and cooperation without boundaries in the future, in different aspects of regions, races, cultures and technologies.

I can’t think of any… Seems that I don't have secrets...
I meet different people and things at different stages in my life, and these all have different degrees of influence on me. For the deepest influence, it was my father. He introduced me to metalworking techniques and taught me a lot of valuable experiences and truths that are difficult to express in words...
There is no formulator of being success.... just be true to myself and get to know more of others and the place we are living, be respectful and humble.
Thank you :)
Thanks for all prizes and your interests in my work.
