What’s the dream of a bright person who aspires for success in the future? Landing themselves in a cushy but boring desk job in an office, or doing what they love and get paid for doing so?
Launched in 2019, Lili is an all-in-one banking app that is made for freelancers in America, by freelancers to easily keep track of their finances in their day-to-day activities.
The video starts with a bog-standard advertisement for the Lili app where the actress explains the features before being rudely cut off by the boom operator and uttering the iconic phrase, “Damn, I need that!” before the director gets angry at the interruption and starts the shoot all over again.
The running gag keeps on recurring over and over again as the actress continues to show off the intuitive and easy-to-use features and UI that makes managing the finances of freelancers everywhere easier than saying A-B-C, each time with some crew member uttering the phrase, “Damn, I need that!” and prompting the director to lose his cool before succumbing to saying, “Damn, I need that!”
This comedic skit is actually based on Bevel’s experience of producing a series of “How To” videos during their time in Brooklyn as freelancers. And they used that experience as a basis to emphasize the theme of freelancer culture by hiring freelancers to produce this clever advert.
Although comedic and hilarious at times, Lili is every freelancer’s best friend when it comes to managing the finances of one’s side business. And Bevel did an excellent job to educate, inform, and empower freelancers everywhere with the tools needed to become their own success story!
Lacoste’s fantastic production of THE Crocodile puts their mascot in an endearing advert of their leather goods!
