Designs are more than just simple drawing and sketching. It holds the souls and abstraction of the designer behind, giving life to the blueprints etched within their minds. At the NY Product Design Awards, not only do they recognize the valuable assets (designs) that swifts the grand direction of the industry, but also the overflowing concepts in the minds of the designers.
The International Awards Associate (IAA), a global awards organization, hosted the competition for Season 1 of 2022, pursuing the pinnacles of creativity and also aesthetics. Working as their media partner, Muse.World is keen on displaying the best entries there are to further encourage designers all over the world to display their brilliance. In conjunction with the recent announcements of the Season 1 award holders, this article will feature the astounding entries of the Product Designer of the Year and Product Design of the Year.
Product Designer of the Year – SUNGLIDER Smart Uberground Metros
As the world population continues to grow, so does the need and requirements for transportation. Automobile brands like Tesla and BMW continue to thrive in the industry, raising the standards of personal vehicles. On the other hand, not everyone is able to afford their own, which is where public transports come into play. Aiming to reinvent their definitions, voluntary enthusiasts from different universities in Osnabrück (D) and Warsaw (PL) have come together for the project.
The metro runs on 100% solar energy that generates infinitely, linking the bridges between cities, towns, and the bustling city centres. Consisting completely or recycled glulam, the metro carries an urbanized design, in addition to its’ sleek looks. The cool name even rings bells, moving at top speed and is ultra-silent, without you even noticing it’s here. The most important part is, it’s completely free to ride it! What more could you ask for when it’s free of charge, environmental-friendly, and never arrives late?

Product Design of the Year – Volcat 43
Submitted under Akalin Yacht Design International, the Volcat 43 is a luxurious vessel, one of the first power catamaran to integrate all available power systems under a single boat. With ample living space, the Volcat 43 is designed to include exceptional features not belonging to other boats of the similar class.
The yacht is built with a Fly Bridge within, where an enormous dining area resides that fits all the guests on board. The lounge area is also filled with sunbeds, in addition to a control console, available for those who would like to control the boat. Moving on to the lower deck, the master cabin first approaches the eye, and has a private bathroom attached, allocating privacy to the fullest. There are also 2 other guest cabins with a shared bathroom located in the starboard hull, with alternatives of 4 cabin charter versions.
