The media partner of Muse.World, International Awards Associate (IAA) and the 2022 MUSE Photography Awards is filled with imageries that are oddly satisfying, and creates a sense of admiration for the hands behind the lens, especially those of the top achievers.
There is a reason behind the selection of the Photographers of the Year, so dive into the world of photography and find out what lies ahead in the heads of the top achievers in the awards.
Markétas’ personal interest lies in the combination of nature and human elements, as contemplated in her winning entry, integrating humans into their origins with nature. Her concept can be traced back to the parts where humans are a vital part of the environment, and they are inseparable, both which cannot survive on their own.
For the entry that won her the Photographer of the Year, she surrounds the young woman in her portrait with leaves and flowers from bushes into her hair. Through such implementations, humans and nature are merged into a single image, enforcing the main theme of man and nature together, showcasing a world of dreams.

From the title itself, “Fishing boat” represents the core concept of the fishermen in Phu Yen that make tremendous efforts to catch fish at dusk each day. Focusing on the image, the photographer portrays the daily works of these fishermen, in which they are lifting the nets out of the water, signalling their acquisitions of the day.
The true meaning behind the image is that the fishermen in and outside of the image who live there depends on catching fish for a living, in addition to the happiness and mental satisfaction that they obtain from nature. According to the author, fishing nets also create a unique yet elegant shape on the sea, which drew the attention to freeze the moment forever.
