Sharing their insights together with their fellow peers, the competition was surrounded by passionate individuals with the desire to alter the industry, while showcasing what it meant to be a photographer with a unique perspective.
With the winners emerging from the vast waves of entrants, here are a few elites in the fields of Fine Art Photography who participated with captivating images that grabbed the attention of the jury panel.
In this image, Dillion managed to portray a different feeling to his partner, Ellie where she was caught up in a single moment amongst the vast desert. As the winds breeze by and picked up the red skirt of the dress into a scarlet shapeshifting banner, it feels as if she was covered by elegance and an angel-like ambience. Feeling the cold sand beneath her feet, moulding around her feet with every step she takes, and the sun slowly fading away, the image definitely proves that the desert is alive on its’ own.
The overall series created by Antoine illustrates a disproportionate immensity in which nature seems to be limitless and beauty is present everywhere. Depicting the power of nature in its’ raw state, Antoine displays the sensation that it offers every moment after the creation of the world. Thus, he illustrates the beauty of Greenland, a land of extremes where the harshness of climate is perpetually conjugated with the sublime. With every image, it demonstrates the dizzying silence that reigns supreme while revealing to them the fragility of the moment.
Bernds’ work has always been something that proves to be fascinating, and this is no exception. Calling it the “Dance of Doom”, it references the image that was taken under the sea, surrounded by the unknown yet enchanting beauties. Bernd wanted the audience to feel everything inside his image, like the kiss of death, slowly sinking into the deep, as well as the abyss of the soul. The sirens will drag any who dare approach them, while they slowly lose the sensual emotions until the remains of light dims out completely.
Being a series that explodes with colors and cuteness, Follow the flower rainbow is truly a work of art, creating a playful and colorful theme. Veronika combined flowers and dogs together, creating something that is harmonically pleasing and suitable for each of the pets present in each image. The main focus of the series is to utilize complementary colors according to the appearances of each dog, making them look adorable while brightening the image entirely.
In order to come up with an aesthetic photograph, it would normally mean that diversity is a strong suit that shouldn’t be ignored. Witnessing the birth of such photography, Zhang felt that beauty was often seen through an Eurocentric lens, where the definition of beauty remains different from others. Therefore, he invited an African American model and influencer by the name of Sonia Barbie Tucker who originated from Ghana, and proved to the world the true aesthetics of Africa.
