Bringing about the best stories to the final stage on an international standard, only those with depth will have a chance in standing out from all the categories available and claim their designated titles. Photography means the world to these participants, and only those who resonate with their viewpoint will be able to fully indulge in these stalwart images. The article will highlight the first few Professional Category Winners of the Year (not according to ranking).
As everyone is wary of, the pandemic has been tearing through the defenses all over the world, with victims falling to the virus at a high rate when it first erupted. Recording the vital situation during the fourth attack of the virus, Alexander was able to snap this important moment of rescuing patients. The image was taken in Germany, and revolves around an emergency doctor monitoring the vital functions of a comatose victim inside an intensive care air transport.
Christiaans’ office is quite different than what we are used to see, and that can be seen through his stunning image. Taking wide angle shots, the series was actually taken from the cockpit of a 747 plane! At the time the photograph was taken, they were flying high above the face of the Earth, sandwiched in between the glistering stars and the world we are used to seeing, which is both impressive and magnificent.
Fully focused on architecture photography, Glenn took his next steps to Florida Polytechnic University in Lakeland, Florida. Santiago Calatrava, a famous Spanish architect, designed the famous architecture – its’ the University’s central building, which was the main attraction of Glenn’s entry. The image was focused on bringing out the shadows it casted during daytime, while tuning it in black and white to make it aesthetically pleasing to watch.
Wildlife are perhaps one of the most difficult things to portray, as it will take a lot of patience and also a specific timing to capture the best image. In this photograph, it highlights the migration process of caribou, where Jean-Simon took the risk of going as near as possible to obtain the best position possible in seizing this particular moment. Consequently, he was successful in snapping the best scene he was hoping for.
Implementing the shocking moment of the Pacaya Volcano in San Vicente Pacaya, Guatemala, Esteban was able to portray the instance of a woman who held a wooden cross while praying that the lava does not erupt and destroys her home. This was such a heartbreaking image with the story behind it, and it was truly a sight to behold, as the balance between nature and humans were tipping sideways.
