"The original Muse Creative Awards program has been a runaway success since its premiere in 2015," Kenjo Ong, President of IAA, said. "Going strong into its fourth year, we're opening the 2019 competition for advertising professionals on December 12, 2018. We can't wait to see the great work that will be submitted for judging."
Even with the success of the Muse Creative Awards, IAA realized there were still aspects of industry where creative professionals weren't being recognized in the ways they deserve.
To achieve that goal, IAA is expanding the Muse program to include the ever-creative world of design. "This new competition is a natural outgrowth of the original, which honors professionals engaged in the advertising industry," Ong said. "There's so much going on in the world of design, and we want to encourage and support those achievements as well."
Named the Muse Design Awards, this program is a welcome addition to IAA's suite of competitions, which also includes the Muse Creative, Vega Digital and GlobalTrend Awards.
The Muse Design Awards and Muse Creative Awards will open for entries on December 12, 2018 with winning entries being announced in early spring 2019, recognizing the creative design achievements of professionals who spur the evolution of the design. Deadline for entry is March 28, 2019.
"We believe that good design changes the world for the better," Kenjo Ong, President of IAA, said. "The Muse Awards are created to help discover and advance professionals from every corner of the design world, to reward their groundbreaking work and increase their ability to help us all evolve forward."
Muse Design Awards' six categories include architecture, interior design, fashion design, product and packaging design, and transportation design. This international competition is open to solo or team submissions, from small, medium-sized and large firms.
A small fee is required per entry, and is used solely to produce and administer the competition. A jury is selected from a comprehensive, international field of award-winning professionals from each design discipline.
"The Muse Design Awards statuette is distinctive in its look and feel from other competitive awards," Ong added. "We drew inspiration for the figure from the muses of mythology, and its architecturally-inspired crown symbolizes the apex of design achievement."
Designer of the Year awards will be given to the single best-judged entry in each category. Platinum, gold, silver, and rose-gold level winners, as well as honorable mentions will be awarded and announced within two weeks of the close of competition.
IAA is an international group, composed of award-winning design and communications professionals. "IAA seeks to reward and recognize the creatives who advance the evolution of the landscape we all live in – and help us move forward into a better world."
